Slot Machine Revenue In Pa. Moves Up Slightly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - After several down years, slot machine revenue at Pennsylvania casinos rebounded in the last fiscal year, notching a slight increase.
Gross terminal revenue, or the before-tax profit at Pennsylvania's twelve casinos, was up around .7-percent for the fiscal year that ended June 30th.
That may not sound like much, but it is the first increase in slots revenue since the 2011/12 fiscal year. Gaming Control Board spokesman Doug Harbach says astute marketing has helped Pennsylvania casinos weather new competition from surrounding states:
"The good news for Pennsylvania seeing stability in the gaming market and even some rise, is that that continues to keep our tax revenues the highest in the United States."
Table games revenue figures for Pennsylvania casinos will be announced in a few weeks.
