South Jersey Man Sentenced For Sexual Relationship With Teen, Eluding Police

WOODBURY, N.J. (AP) — A southern New Jersey man has been sentenced to six years in state prison on charges stemming from a police pursuit and his relationship with a teenage girl.

Gloucester County prosecutors say Robert DeCamp III will also have to register as a sex offender under the sentence imposed Friday.

The 25-year-old Millville man had pleaded guilty in May to eluding and child endangerment.

Prosecutors say the girl was between the ages of 13 and 16 when she gave birth to DeCamp's child in 2012. The girl's father told police about the couple's consensual relationship in October 2013, shortly after he gained custody of her.

When police attempted to arrest DeCamp the following month, authorities say he tried to elude them but was captured after his vehicle crashed during the pursuit.
