Sixers Announce Preseason Slate Of Games

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The regular season schedule was revealed recently, and now the Sixers preseason slate is set as well. The team will play seven preseason games from Oct. 6 through Oct. 23.

The preseason will be an opportunity for fans to see a Sixers team that underwent a serious makeover throughout this off-season and while some of the names may not be superstar caliber, there is now a clear group of key contributors that will lead this roster.

Jahlil Okafor, the third overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, steps in as perhaps the best player on the team from day one. He will team up with Nerlens Noel to anchor a young Sixers front court.

We will also get our first look at Nik Stauskas who was acquired from the Kings in a off-season trade. Stauskas has the inside track to be the Sixers starter a shooting guard and could pair well alongside the athletic slashing ability shown by Tony Wroten.

The Sixers will open the preseason on Oct. 6 in Washington and will host the Cavaliers on Oct. 8. The Sixers will then head to Albany, N.Y. for an Oct. 10 meeting with Brooklyn.

On Oct. 12 the Sixers will visit the Knicks followed by an Oct. 16 match up with Washington.

The Sixers will face the Nets one more time on Oct. 18 and then will wrap up the preseason against the Celtics on Oct. 23 in Manchester, NH.
