Sixers New Mascot Is Franklin, The Fluffy Blue Dog
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Not B. Franklin Dogg, a finalist in the Sixers mascot contest that was scrapped, but just Franklin. He is your new Sixers mascot, ladies and gentleman.
As Grantland.com first reported, the new Sixers mascot is a fluffy blue dog named Franklin.
The report said the idea stems from market research done by Tim McDermott, the Sixers' Chief Marketing Officer. The team is appealing to 6-10 year old kids, because most becomes fans in that age range.
On Monday, the Twitter handle @SixersFranklin with the bio, "I am FRANKLIN, official Mascot of the@Sixers," tweeted:

Franklin will be the third mascot in the team's history, after Hip-Hop and Big Shot.
The official announcement will be made on Tuesday at 1:00pm.
