Sixers Look To Snap 16-Game Road Losing Streak Tonight In Denver

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The road has not been kind to the 76ers for quite some time now.

Brett Brown's squad has lost its last 16 games away from the Center.

Philadelphia's last road win came on January 9th when they beat the Nets in Brooklyn, 90-88. The Sixers get another opportunity to to snap that long streak tonight as they visit the Denver Nuggets.

The latest road loss came last night, a 107-106 defeat in Sacramento. The Sixers rolled up 70 points in the first half against the Kings, but they could muster just 36 over the final two quarters, including just 3 points over the game's final 6:12.

Overall this season Philadelphia is 17-54. One of their wins came at the expense of the Nuggets in the only other meeting between the two teams this season. That was back on February 3rd at the Center, the Sixers winning 105-98 that night behind 23 points from Hollis Thompson.

The Nuggets will bring a 27-44 record into this one. They last played on Sunday, winning in Orlando, 119-100. In that game, Denver forward Danilo Gallinari lit up the Magic for 40 points.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Derek Bodner of LibertyBallers.com about the state of the 76ers as they head into the home stretch of the season.
