Sixers Host Hawks Looking For 2nd Straight Win

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  The 76ers will be trying to win back-to-back games for the first time this season tonight as they welcome the Atlanta Hawks to the Center.

Brett Brown's squad beat Minnesota last time out on Monday, 109-99. That win improved the 76ers to 4-33 for the season, but they are 3-3 in their last six games. And that stretch just happened to coincide with the moment the 76ers reacquired point guard Ish Smith in that trade with New Orleans. In six games since the deal, Smith is averaging 14.7 points and 8.2 assists a game.

Atlanta is 21-15 on the season and they have lost two straight coming into tonight. The Hawks won the first meeting between these two teams this season back on December 16th, 127-106, down in Atlanta.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Bob Cooney of the Philadelphia Daily News to talk about the match-up.
