Sixers Acquire First-Round Pick, JaVale McGee From Nuggets
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- According to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the Philadelphia 76ers have acquired a first-round pick for absorbing JaVale McGee and his contract from the Denver Nuggets. In return, the Sixers send the rights of Cenk Akyol to the Nuggets.
The first-round pick comes from the Nuggets via the Oklahoma City Thunder and is protected 1-18 in 2015.
McGee makes $11.25 million this season and $12 million next season, before becoming an unrestricted free-agent in 2016.
The Sixers could potentially have three first-round picks in this year's draft.
