Sixers 2014 Preseason Schedule Is Set

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- This week the Sixers announced their slate of preseason games as they prepare for the 2014-15 season. The Sixers will once again field a very young team and each game, including preseason, will be important in terms of developing the young talent on the roster.

The Sixers open up the preseason on October 6th on the road against their rivals, the Boston Celtics. Both Michael Carter-Williams and Nerlens Noel will be returning to their home state of Massachusetts.

The Sixers will play their first game at home against the Charlotte Bobcats on October 8th. The Sixers will also play an interesting game on October 10th against the Timberwolves out in Minneapolis, Mn. There have been reports that Thaddeus Young could wind up being traded to the Timberwolves and this would be his first time facing the Sixers in his NBA career.

The preseason will also feature two games at locations that will not see regular season NBA basketball. The Sixers will travel up to Syracuse, Ny to play the Knicks in the Carrier Dome on October 14th and they will face the Orlando Magic on October 18th at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa. Carter-Williams will have another home coming of sorts as he played college basketball at Syracuse.
