Singer Enrique Iglesias Offers His Support To Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Superstar Enrique Iglesias is lending his support to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Enrique personally chose the locally-based foundation as the charitably beneficiary for the second-leg his North American tour after hearing the inspiring story about the non-profit organization created by childhood cancer fighter Alex Scott (1996-2004.)

"This is such a special and important cause," says Enrique. "I was floored when I heard about everything Alex did and the courage she showed. Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is not only furthering research, but they're providing crucial 'quality of life' programs for families surviving the disease. This is the best way I can honor her memory."

As part of his current North American tour, Enrique will be donating $2 from each presale ticket to the remaining tour dates. Additionally, he will donate four tickets to each show to share with families and supporters.

By showing their support of ALSF, fans of Enrique can also win the chance to meet him at the show of their choice during the tour.

"Later in November, we will announce other ways I'll be working with my fans to raise funds and awareness in support of this incredible organization," says Enrique. "Together, we can carry on Alex's legacy, and hopefully bring us one step closer to eradicating childhood cancer, one cup of lemonade at a time."

Earlier this year, CBS 3 and The CW Philly's eighth annual Alex Scott Phone Bank raised more than $2 million for pediatric cancer research. Over its eight years on-air, the event has raised more than $9 million for the cause.
