Police: Sinead O'Connor Found Safe

By Lisa Respers France

PHILADELPHIA (CNN) -- Police in suburban Chicago say Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O'Connor has been found safe.

Wilmette police spokesman Eric Peterson said Monday that O'Connor has been located, though he wouldn't say where she was found.

But he says the singer "is safe and no longer considered a missing or endangered person."

It's unclear why she was in Wilmette, which is an upper-class suburb about 15 miles north of Chicago along the shores of Lake Michigan.

Police released a statement Monday morning saying they had put out a well-being check for O'Connor after she reportedly went on a bike ride Sunday morning and never returned.
