Silent Protest Held In Love Park To Show Solidarity For Alberto Nisman

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – People pushing for a better justice system in Argentina, marched in protests around the world and even here in Philadelphia.

KYW Newsradio reports top Argentinean prosecutor Alberto Nisman accused their government of being behind the bombing of a Jewish community center that took place in 1994, but last month, hours before he was due in court to give his testimony on the case he was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head.

"We have to be together as a community, that's the only way our voice will be heard and justice will be served," a protester said.

So on Wednesday afternoon, with signs and Argentinean flags in hand nearly a dozen protesters silently paraded through Love Park in a show of solidarity with the people of Argentina who want to see the end of corruption in their government.

"We are demonstrating the need for people to be able to do their jobs without being incriminated or without having to worry about their security or their well being," a protester said.

The demonstrators say making locals aware about the inequalities in Argentina makes their march that much more important.
