Man Taken Into Custody After Allegedly Shooting At Police In Oxford Circle

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A man accused of getting into a shootout with Philadelphia police is now in custody.

The confrontation happened shortly after 8 a.m. Friday on the 1400 block of Lardner Street in Oxford Circle.

Authorities say the man began firing at officers after they caught him firing shots at his girlfriend's house.

Police shot back, but the suspect got away in an SUV. He later surrendered at his home.

No injuries were reported.

Police say they're looking to recover the gun.
