The kickoff was held at the In A Pickle deli in West Deptford, where owner Eric Sailor says local customers have helped his business to grow over the last six years.

"I don't buy from Papa John's or Pizza Hut. I've always had the gumption to shop small."

Vail says businesses have reported higher traffic in the three previous years of the 'buy local' campaign.
