Police: Man Dies Following Altercation At Philly Bar

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—Police are investigating after a man dies following an altercation at a bar in Philadelphia.

It happened early Monday morning at the Watutsi Bar located at 4600 Walnut Street.

Details surrounding the shooting remain unclear, but police confirm that a 35-year-old man was involved in an altercation with an unknown black man inside and outside of the bar.

At some point during the morning he was shot.

Officers responded  to the 2600 block of Emily Street just before 2 a.m. where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest.

Police tell the Associated Press, that friends of the victim said they didn't immediately realize he'd been wounded.

The man was rushed to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center where he later died.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police.

The victim's identity is not available at this time, pending family notification.
