14-year-old killed in Bensalem triple shooting, police say

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- A shooting in Bensalem has left a 14-year-old dead and two others injured on Tuesday night, police said. 

Police said they responded to reports of a "large group of juveniles fighting" in the area of Bristol Pike and Woodbine Avenue in a shopping center at 7:35 p.m.   

Once arriving on the scene, authorities said they found three shooting victims -- the 14-year-old, another minor and one man. 

The 14-year-old was shot in the chest and lower neck, police said. The teen was pronounced dead at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. 

The other minor and man were both shot in their legs, police said. They were also taken to Jefferson Torresdale. One of them was treated and released, while the other is listed as stable. 

Authorities said 12 shots were fired into a crowd from a vehicle parked at Woodbine Avenue and Bristol Pike. Police believe the shooter fled the scene in a vehicle northbound on Bristol Pike after the shooting. 

Police said they plan to release more information about the vehicle. 

The shooting is under investigation.
