Shady Brook Farm Gears Up For The Holidays In Bucks County

By Jan Carabeo

YARDLEY, Pa., (CBS) -- It's a dazzling display of light that grows every year in Bucks County. You know the holiday season has arrived when you see the lights at Shady Brook Farm in Yardley.

"This is so much fun," Owner Paul Fleming says. "I just love coming to work. At the end of the night, you see the lights."

But installing three million lights is no easy feat. Designs start nearly a year in advance, and close to two dozen workers construct everything from the blue woods to the brilliant light tunnels over the course of months.

"We'll put up lights in the summer when it's nice and hot out, when it's not cold and rainy," Fleming says.

Fleming took Eyewitness News through the nearly two mile show before opening night on Saturday. The wagon ride is his personal favorite.

"It's the best way to see the lights," Fleming says. "It's really a great experience with your family."

This display draws more than 30,000 vehicles each season. The cost for cars is $25, a wagon ride runs $12 per person.

The Shady Brook Farm Light Show is in its 21st year. The show starts Saturday at 5 p.m. and runs until January 10th.
