Several Local Counties Declare 'Code Blue' Weather Advisories

CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – Officials in several area counties have declared Code Blue advisories due to the frigid weather.

NEW JERSEY

Burlington County - A Code Blue begins at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 through 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015.

Officials say to call CONTACT at (856) 234-8888 or (866) 234-5006 for shelter sites. CONTACT will assess the location of the homeless individual and recommend the appropriate shelter site.

Camden County - A Code Blue is in effect from 6 p.m. on the evenings of Thursday, February 12, 2015 and Friday, February 13, 2015 through 7 a.m. the following day.

Officials say persons seeking shelter in a warming center should contact their local municipality.  Additional resources are available by calling the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services at 800-999-9045, or by visiting www.camdencounty.com.

PENNSYLVANIA

Philadelphia - A Code Blue is in effect as of Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 8 p.m. If you see a homeless person on the street, please call the Project Home Outreach Hotline 215-232-1984. Montgomery County – A Code Blue is in effect beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015 until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
