Seven Teens Injured In AC Expressway Crash

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- Seven teenagers were injured Monday morning when their minivan veered off the Atlantic City Expressway.

New Jersey State Police say it happened around 8:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the expressway in Winslow Township when the driver of the Chevy Venture fell asleep, ran of the road and struck a tree.

Authorities say two boys who were thrown from the vehicle were flown to Cooper University Hospital. Three others were taken there by ambulance. Two of the teenagers escaped with minor injuries.

Police say none of teens was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

There was no immediate word on their identities.

Authorities say none of the injuries were life-threatening.
