Serious Crash Kills 1 In Hamilton Township

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – Chopper 3 was over the scene of a serious motor vehicle crash in Hamilton Township, NJ.

The crash was reported at Route 322 between Weymuth Road and Malaga Road around 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, officers located an overturned truck.

An investigation revealed the truck crossed over the eastbound lanes and traveled up an embankment on the shoulder. It then struck several trees and overturned.

The driver, identified by police as 73-year-old Al Nelson, died in the accident.

The eastbound lanes of Route 322 were closed for five hours as police conducted their investigation.
