September Is National Preparedness Month, Are You Ready For The Unexpected?

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- September is National Preparedness Month, and emergency agencies across the country are urging people to have a plan in case of the unexpected.

It's no coincidence that National Preparedness Month falls in the heart of hurricane season. Rafael Lemaitre is with FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency said its all about having a plan.

"Try to encourage families to take time today to have a conversation about what they need to do to prepare and to practice that plan."
