Train service resumes on SEPTA's Thorndale lines in and out of Philadelphia
Thorndale line train service has resumed between Philadelphia and Chester County after an hours-long disruption, SEPTA said.
Service to and from Center City Philadelphia was suspended for several hours until about 6:45 p.m. SEPTA posted on X just before 7 p.m. that service was resuming from Gray 30th Street Station on the line on track 1.
A few minutes later, the transit agency posted that the first train into Center City on the line would be train 5352 departing from Malvern Station.
Thorndale: Inbound train #5352 will be the first inbound train to Center City, and will originate from Malvern Station. Service remains suspended between Malvern and Thorndale Station.

Thorndale: Service has been restored to the Paoli/Thorndale line. The first outbound train will be #4571, and will depart from Gray 30th Street Station on track 1. Please note the change in regular boarding location.

Service was also suspended on the Cynwyd line.
Downed wires overhead caused the issue, SEPTA posted on social media.
Amtrak and SEPTA crews cleared the area and have started repairs, officials said, but service will remain suspended until the repairs are completed.

Trains were stopped for multiple hours Monday afternoon.
