SEPTA Offers Free Subway Rides To And From Eagles Game

By Al Novack

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you're headed to Philadelphia Eagles' home opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars and want to avoid the hassle of parking and traffic, SEPTA is offering an alternative, with the Broad Street Subway.

SEPTA is hoping it can add to making your trip to and from Lincoln Financial Field a pleasant one by offering free rides on it's Broad Street Subway Line. For an eight-hour window between 10 a.m. and 6 a.m. there will be no fares and no transfers. The Broad Street Subway is offering a free direct link to the sports complex in South Philadelphia via it's AT&T station.

SEPTA is also adding ten extra express sports trains that will operate every ten minutes.

Regular rates apply to all other transit services during the free ride event.

The Eagle and Jaguars kick off at 1 p.m. today.
