SEPTA Introducing New 'Travel Wallet'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- SEPTA's introducing a new feature on Monday called the "Travel Wallet."

"It's a feature you can use on your SEPTA Key Card," said SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch

He says you can load from $10 up to $250 into the Travel Wallet, and that, unlike weekly or monthly passes, there's no expiration date.

"This is something that's available for folks who don't need quite as many trips as you would get as a weekly or a monthly pass," said Busch.

Busch says they're starting with a limited rollout of 1,000 new Key Cards.

"They'll only be on sale at the sales office, and at a fare kiosk machine at SEPTA  Headquarters at 1234 Market Street," he said.

Busch says it's like using tokens, but a whole lot lighter to carry.

"We think that this is going to be a great tool for a lot of our riders to use," he said.
