SEPTA Honors Its Largest Group Of Retirees Ever

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- SEPTA held a luncheon Friday, inside Jefferson Station, for the largest group of retirees in the transit authority's history. Patricia Miller says she will miss a lot about her time at SEPTA

"I'm one of those strange people that loved their job," Miller said.

But her favorite memory...

"The Pope's visit. Our preparation for that, the massive preparation. I slept in my office."

Welton Cannon worked for SEPTA for 49 years "I started as a trolley driver, then I transferred to a bus, and I have been on bus after all that time." But now, he's looking forward to the Golden Years.

"It's my wife & I, and we have the grandkids, and we do a lot of travelling, like I love New Orleans, so I be down there a lot."

Doc Strange spent most of his life at SEPTA.

"Now I am going to spend all my time trying to be a photographer." And what he'll miss the most?

"The co-workers, you've been with them for 41 years. It's like a family."
