SEPTA Crowded, But Spirits High Following Parkway Mass

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Parkway Mass exodus resulted in crowded SEPTA trains, but most remained patient with smiles on their faces.
Among those taking it all in stride in line to board a train at SEPTA's Jefferson station was the Borneman family of North Whales -- Meg, her husband, Brad, and 11-year-old daughter Jane.
"Actually jane really wanted to come," Meg says. She was the one who said we need to go. So we got tickets. I felt like it was important to come down to see the whole scene, get the feel and make it just a good thing to do. It makes you feel you are part of something huge."
Mary Ellen Bell from Horsham was waiting to board the Landsdale/Doylestown region rail train with her family also at Jefferson station:
Despite not having tickets, "We saw the Pope, and it was great," she said.
Thousands stood in line above ground along Spring Garden Street to take the subway. And even though there was a long wait, one woman says she doesn't mind because she is going home with love in her heart.
SEPTA says for the most part, there were few problems Sunday night.
