SEPTA Bus Driver Caught On Camera Throwing Water On Passenger During Dispute

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  SEPTA Police are investigating an incident in which one of its bus drivers was caught on camera apparently throwing water on a passenger during a dispute.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. Friday on the Route 57 bus along Rising Sun Avenue near Duncannon Avenue in the city's Olney neighborhood.

Officials say it began as a fare dispute and escalated from there.

The video shows the driver walking toward a woman and dousing her with liquid from what appears to be a water bottle and hitting her twice in the face.

SEPTA authorities were speaking with witnesses and reviewing their own surveillance video of the incident.

Officials were working to identify the woman who was sprayed by the driver so they could speak with her about the incident.

The bus driver was interviewed and was suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

He was not charged.
