Secret Service Officer Faces Hearing In Sexting Case

WILMINGTON, Delaware (AP) — A federal magistrate in Delaware is holding a hearing for a Secret Service officer charged with trying to solicit a 14-year-old girl for sex.

Lee Robert Moore, who is being represented by a public defender, was to appear Thursday at a hearing where prosecutors will ask that he be held in custody until his trial.

Moore could face 10 years in federal prison if convicted of trying to transfer obscene material to a minor.

He also faces separate state charges of sexual solicitation of a child under 18 and providing obscene material to a minor, which will be resolved after the federal court case.

Moore surrendered to authorities in Maryland on Nov. 9 after officials say he was caught in an undercover online sex sting by Delaware State Police.
