Another woman was already charged for the incident. Shavon Armstrong, 39, turned herself into police on Friday, June 17. The Wilkes Barre native was charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, robbery and related charges.

The victim's body was found was found on June 14, around 8:14 a.m. Authorities say a young couple was on their way to work when they spotted the body off the road on the 5300 block of Georges Hill Drive.

She was found face down, according to police, with her hands handcuffed in the front. Officials say she suffered multiple stab wounds and a gunshot to the back of the head.

Police described the level of brutality as disturbing.

Homicide detectives said that before murdering the victim, the suspects brutalized her.

"She was stabbed several times," said Philadelphia Police Capt. James Clark.

"Almost, not to kill her, the stab wounds, but just to hurt her and torture her. She had some type of rag that was shoved into her mouth, to attempt to suffocate her and at the end of the day, she was put on her hands and knees and she was shot in the back of the head. It was a truly tragic and vicious killing."
