Second Person Arrested In Connection With Charter School Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia Police say a second person has been arrested and charged in connection to the school shooting that took place on Friday at Delaware Valley Charter High School (see related story).

Police say video footage shows 18-year-old Donte Walker, a former student, purchasing a handgun from an unidentified man.

Authorities say Walker then gave the gun to 17-year-old Rai-Sheem Rockwell inside the schools gymnasium.

Investigators say Walker was considered a guest in the school and did not have to pass the metal detectors.

According to police, Rockwell is responsible for Friday's shooting (see related  story), which put two students in the hospital.

Rockwell was allegedly going to be the targeted of an assault after school and may have requested the gun for that reason. He is being charged as an adult with aggravated assault and other related offenses and is in jail on $500,000 bail.

Walker is being charged with Violation of Uniform Firearms Act as well as conspiracy.

Both victims of the shooting have been released from the hospital.

Two other students were in police custody in connection with the shooting, but have both been released without any charges.
