Search Underway For Police Impersonator In MontCo

ORELAND, Pa. (CBS) -- The search is underway for a police impersonator in Montgomery County. Springfield Township Police say an unmarked van, with flashing lights, stopped a car on Tuesday night near Church and Brent Roads in Oreland, Pa.

Police ran the license plate and the van came back registered to Charles Grossman of Whitemarsh Township.

Officials say he is a full-time locksmith and a part-time SPCA officer. Police are calling him a person of interest.

"When we have vehicles that are driving around with emergency lights on them, similar to a police vehicle, that's a concern for us and a concern for the public said Springfield detective Stephen Craig.

Police have not identified the victim of the phony stop. They do want to hear from anyone else who might have been a victim.
