Sean Hayes Joins CBS Sitcom "The Millers"

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) - CBS says popular sitcom star Sean Hayes is joining the cast of its comedy "The Millers" as a series regular.

Hayes will play Kip Withers, the new best friend of Carol Miller played by Margo Martindale and a new source of friction for her son, played by Will Arnett, CBS said on Tuesday.

“After years of being a fan and hearing from others how wonderful he is to work with, I couldn’t be more excited about Sean Hayes joining "The Millers,"” said Greg Garcia, series creator and executive producer. “The thought of he and Margo Martindale as BFFs makes me smile every time I think about it. We’re only just getting started, and writing this season’s stories has been a blast.”

Hayes is best-known from eight seasons on the sitcom "Will & Grace." Last season he starred in the comedy series "Sean Saves the World."

"The Millers," which premiered last fall, is a family comedy also starring Beau Bridges and J.B. Smoove. Its second season begins October 30.
