Police Find Young Seal Injured In Shark Attack
KEYPORT, N.J. (CBS) -- Police in a Jersey Shore town in Monmouth County find a young seal that was injured in a shark attack.
Marine Mammal Stranding Center says police in Keyport found a very small seal on the Municipal Boat Ramp on Saturday night.
The 33-pound emaciated harbor seal, which was born this summer, was suffering from an older shark bite scar, an eye injury, and a slight wound on her belly.
This seal marks the center's 5,000th stranding since 1978.
