Bernie Sanders Pitches For Votes Throughout Pa.

READING, Pa. (CBS) - Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders made three stops in Pennsylvania Thursday.

One of them was Reading, where a boisterous crowd greeted the Vermont senator inside a packed theatre downtown.

Sanders touched on the major themes of his campaign – income inequality, Wall Street corruption, and fixing what he says is the nation's broken economy.

He also criticized the nation's pharmaceutical companies and the prices they charge for drugs:

"One out of five Americans who get a prescription from their doctor are unable to afford to fill that prescription. That's crazy. Crazy is elderly people in Pennsylvania and Vermont cutting their pills in half because they don't have enough money to buy the medicine they need."

Sanders says the time is now to make health care a right for all people, not a privilege.

He believes voters can make the difference:

"What we have learned in this campaign is when the voter turnout is high, we win. When it's low, we lose. Let us have next Tuesday the highest voter turnout in Pennsylvania history. Thank you all, very much."

Sanders also attended a rally in Oaks Thursday and a town hall meeting in Scranton.
