PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A preliminary hearing was postponed Monday for the Philadelphia man accused of bludgeoning a 31-year-old receptionist with a pipe. The defense of Jeffrey Stepien, 48, requested a continuance so he could undergo a mental health check.

A status hearing is set for March 7.
