Sam Hinkie: 'Avoiding Media Out Of Respect For 76ers'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Sam Hinkie continues to take the high road.
Hinkie, who resigned as Philadelphia 76ers general manager with an infamous 13-page letter in April, declined an invitation to join SportsRadio 94WIP's draft coverage on Thursday night.
Hinkie told 94WIP's Brian Haddad that he is "avoiding media requests out of respect for the Sixers."
I just spoke to Sam Hinkie. Really. Asked him if he'd come on tonight's draft show. He said "out of respect to Sixers, he's avoiding media".

Hinkie, 38, is largely credited for the exciting future of the Sixers. However, after three straight seasons with less than 20 wins, Hinkie decided to resign following the franchises decision to hire Jerry Colangelo. Three days after Hinkie stepped down, the Sixers hired Colangelo's son, Bryan, to be the president and new general manager.
A large following of Hinkie supporters continue to praise Hinkie for his work as GM in Philadelphia and when the team won the first overall pick in this year's draft lottery, Hinkie was celebrated.

The slogan used by Hinkie fans was "Trust the process," the same slogan that was posted by the expected Sixers' first-overall pick, Ben Simmons, and center Joel Embiid this week.
Haddad along with Ike Reese, Andrew Porter, and Joe Giglio will host 94WIP's draft show from 6-10pm at Chickie's and Pete's in South Philly on Thursday night.
