Sailboat Mast Gets Caught In Power Lines At Jersey Shore

BELMAR, N.J. (AP) — Utility crews ran into an unexpected obstacle as they tried to restore power in one Jersey shore community.

Belmar officials say a Jersey Central Power and Light crew had to remove the mast of a sailboat that got caught in some power lines on Saturday.

The boat apparently got moved by strong winds that socked the area as a major winter storm moved through.

Crews were able to move the mast out a short time later and soon resumed their restoration work.
