Rutgers Develops New Pumpkin Habanero Pepper

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A new habanero pepper is hitting the market this weekend.

The pumpkin habanero is said to have more heat than a bell pepper but less heat than a typical habanero.

It's the first of its kind -- developed through the Rutgers exotic pepper breeding program.

The new hot pepper was developed to appeal to New Jersey's growing ethnic communities.
