Rules For Re-Gifting This Holiday Season

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Did you receive something under the tree yesterday that you simply don't like? If you are considering re-gifting the gift to someone else, know the proper rules and etiquette for re-gifting.

Officials says do not re-gift to close family members or friends, stay away from re-gifting personalized or handmade gifts, and if you do get caught, officials say it is best to fess up and be honest with that person.

The most popular items to re-gift during the holidays are candles, gift cards and alcohol.
