Roy Halladay And Charlie Manuel Among Guest Instructors For Phillies Spring Training

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Football season officially came to a close on Sunday night and it is now time to start looking ahead to baseball. The Phillies wasted no time in reminding us all that Spring Training 2015 is right around the corner.

On Monday, the team announced the group of alumni guest instructors that will be assisting Ryne Sandberg and his staff at Spring Training.

Eight Phillies alumni were invited back to help instruct the club. The eight guest instructors will be Larry Andersen, Roy Halladay, Dave Hollins, Greg Luzinski, Charlie Manuel, Dan Plesac, Aaron Rowand and Mike Schmidt who has become a regular at Phillies Spring Training for quite some time.

Six of the eight instructors have donned the uniform in a similar role in past spring sessions. Plesac and Rowand will be instructing for the first time.

Pitchers and catchers report to Clearwater on February 19th with full-squad workouts set to begin on February 24th.
