Man found shot dead behind Roxborough apartment complex, Philadelphia police say
A shooting behind a Roxborough apartment building left a 32-year-old man dead Tuesday night, Philadelphia police said.
The shooting happened in a parking lot behind an apartment building on the 7000 block of Ridge Avenue around 9 p.m., according to police.
Police said the man, identified as Tariq Duncan, was found in that parking lot unresponsive and shot multiple times in the torso, chest, and legs. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:52 p.m.
Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said over 30 shell casings from both a rifle and a handgun were found near the victim's body. A handgun was also found on the ground near his, but police are still investigating if that was one of the guns used.
A suspect was seen running in the direction of a nearby ShopRite with a rifle after the shooting, according to police. They said he had a shaved head and was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and black or dark colored pants.
A parked car and the rear door to the apartment building were also struck by gunfire, but no one else was injured.
No arrests have been made. A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or provide an anonymous tip by calling 215-686-TIPS.
Earlier Tuesday, a man was critically injured in a shooting in Philadelphia's East Germantown neighborhood at a playground as city leaders gathered for an emergency meeting on rec center safety following a violent weekend.
