Route 70 In Cherry Hill Closed Overnight Due To Down Wires

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- Downed power lines in Cherry Hill could impact Tuesday morning's commute.

Cherry Hill Police say a snapped telephone pole strewn wires across the roadway on Route 70 near South Birchwood Drive.

Route 70 was temporarily closed in both directions between Springdale and Old Orchard Roads. The westbound side remained closed on Monday night and officials say it is expected to be closed through Tuesday morning.

The eastbound side is expected to reopen sometime throughout the night.

Motorists should expect extreme delays in both directions and additional congestion should be expected on Cropwell, Kresson, Greentree and Springdale Roads, as well as Conestoga and Brandywine in Evesham.
