Police Investigate Woman Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Oxford Circle

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Roosevelt Boulevard in the Oxford Circle section of Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon.

The Philadelphia Fire Department responded to a call of a person struck on Roosevelt Boulevard, near Tyson Avenue, shortly after 2 p.m.

Officials say the 70-year-old woman died at the scene.

According to police, the vehicle was headed southbound on Roosevelt Boulevard, crossing the intersection at Tyson Avenue, when the woman was struck and thrown forward by the vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation

A portion of Roosevelt Boulevard is was closed as police looked over the scene.
