HAMMONTON, N.J. (CBS) - It's a pretty safe bet many of you who have places down the shore will take advantage of better weather to sneak in some relaxation time before the traditional start of the season on Memorial Day Weekend.

So how does it look on the main roads? Not all that bad actually. All that work to expand the Atlantic City Expressway westbound has been done for awhile.

"We opened up for traffic sometime last May," says Expressway spokesman Kevin Rehmann. "So we have a full year under our belt with three complete lanes from the Garden State Parkway and Exit 7 all the way to Route 73 at Exit 31."

Cape May County Engineer Dale Foster says they're in winter recovery mode:

"We're constantly patching potholes and we're trying to get together a resurfacing program to address the worst ones."

That work is likely to go beyond Memorial Day, but it won't be done on weekends.

There are no major projects in Atlantic County.
