Police Investigate Road Rage Shooting In Northeast Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating a road rage shooting in Northeast Philadelphia Sunday evening.

Authorities say a 19-year-old male reported that around 7 p.m. he was driving on Knights Road after leaving Franklin Mills Mall, and when he attempted to make a left turn onto Normandy Drive, he was cut off by a Hispanic male driving a black Cadillac SRX.

The teenager told police words were exchanged, and as the driver of the Cadillac pulled away a single gunshot was heard.

Police say the shot struck the hood of the 19-year-old's vehicle.

The victim was not injured. Police say he followed the driver of the Cadillac onto I-95 until the vehicle exited at Academy Road.

Police say a projectile was recovered from the victim's vehicle.

The incident is under investigation.
