Road Closures, Delays Expected For Sunday's Greek Independence Day Parade

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Greek Independence Day Parade is being held this Sunday, and Philadelphia officials are warning residents of road closures and delays.

The parade is scheduled for Sunday, March 23rd at 1 p.m.

Participants will assemble on the Ben Franklin Parkway between 16th and 18th Streets and head west to the viewing stand at 2300 Ben Franklin Parkway.

As a result, the Parkway will close from 16th Street to 23rd Street. Eakins Oval North/South cross traffic will be allowed to run on the numbered streets during gaps in the parade.

Police officers will be assisting with traffic, but motorists should expect delays.
