Ritttenhouse Hotel Brings In New Restaurant

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - We now know what restaurant will be moving into the Rittenhouse Hotel to take over the space vacated by Smith and Wolensky.

Reg Archambault -- General Manager of the hotel -- says that restaurant is Scarpetta, a high-end Italian eatery:

"The lease was up for Smith and Wolensky, we had a good partnership with them for a number of years and we think it's a very good fit."

Archambault says Scarpetta will be completely different than Smith and Wolensky in menu and atmosphere, and can serve plenty of people:

"It's over 11,000 square feet so it's quite extensive in terms of the size. They're right now doing some demolition and they'll be in the design phase for the next three weeks so we will know more at the end of that."

He says it's important for people to know this doesn't mean that La Croix is going away:

"La Croix is our signature restaurant and will remain so under the guidance of John Cichon, our executive chef and his brigade."

Scarpetta is expected to open at the end of summer.
