Teen Wanted In Shooting Of Good Samaritan In Rittenhouse Square Turns Himself In
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 17-year-old boy wanted in connection to a shooting in Rittenhouse Square earlier this week has turned himself in to police.
Philadelphia Police say the teen suspect turned himself over to authorities around 4 a.m. Saturday with his father.
A warrant had been issued after Tuesday night's shooting in which a 39-year-old man who was trying to thwart an armed robbery attempt was shot multiple times.
Detectives say the suspect knew the people he was trying to rob, and was identified almost immediately.
Police went to the teen's home on Wednesday morning with a warrant for his arrest, but he wasn't there at the time. However, authorities say his parents were very cooperative with their investigation.
There was no initial word on charges.
