Rita's Water Ice In Wilmington Robbed By Knife-wielding Suspect

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware say they are investigating the armed robbery of a Rita's Water Ice that occurred Saturday night in Wilmington.

Around 7:45 p.m., the male suspect, who had a shirt covering his face and was armed with a knife, entered the Rita's at 317 N Maryland Avenue through an unsecured perimeter door.

Once inside, the suspect reportedly confronted a 20-year-old female employee and an 18-year-old male employee, displayed a knife and demanded money.

The employees complied and handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect then fled on foot. He is described as a while male between 20 and 25 years of age, 5'7" and about 140-150 lbs with a thin build. The suspect was last seen wearing a t-shirt, black shorts and a dark shirt covering his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
