By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Four years and $200 million later, Philadelphia has a new family court building at 15th and Arch Streets.

Supreme Court Justice Ron Castille was among officials cutting the ribbon of the new Family Court of Philadelphia.

Previously court services were run out of two buildings, one undersized facility at 1801 Vine and a rundown facility at 34 South 11th Street.

Administrative Judge of Family Court is the Honorable Kevin Dougherty. He says its the first time that services will be able to be combined.

"This building offers the reunification of all public services so that those services readily available to my juvenile justice and child welfare services will now be readily available to those children from family matters being custody support, divorce and the likes of that matter."

Operations at the new facility will commence on Monday, November 17th.
