County commission chairman Josh Shapiro says the trail is well worth the $1.8 million investment from the county.

"When you invest in infrastructure like parks and trails and open spaces, you can improve the quality life. You improve the quality of life, people are happy, people are able to have rich, wonderful experiences," said Shapiro.

With this section done, Montgomery County has finished 60 miles of its planned 165 miles of county trails.
